Turning my back to diet culture

Hello,

I feel the need to put this out in the world because I’m so tired of hearing everyone talking about how their bodies looks, how they always have to lose some weight, starting new diets that they think will finally work, and so on.

I’m realizing in the last couple of years that we spend most of our life thinking about changing our bodies, and never reaching it of course. (because your body is already at a point he has to be)
I’m realising that most of the people on this planet want to lose weight or to not gain weight. And this is so sad. Lots and lots of people are living their entire life switching on and off from diets and wanting to change themselves constantly. So, an incredible number of people basically have disordered eating behaviours, not every one of them will develop an actual eating disorder, but it’s still really hard to face that all of these people will live on diets and hating their bodies.
Can you imagine what you could do instead of hating your body?
I think that the word eating disorder is too much focused on that popular known few eating disorders, but is so a bigger deal. The way that people live, thinking that they have to stay in a certain shape, that they don’t have to gain weight, that they always prepping for their bikini bodies before summer, are already eating disorder behaviors. I know it sounds tough, but if you think that you are not beautiful as people in magazines and tv, you already have a distorted image of yourself, and if you also on and off try to lose weight, and keep changing diets, you probably already have disordered eating. We’ve been bombarded by the same body images since we were born, it doesn’t have to be a surprise that so many of us are not satisfied with our bodies.
I’m on my journey to accepting my body the way it is, still learning every day, but I do know that I will.
Feel free to ask me anything you want to know that I maybe miss writing on this post.
Thank you so much for reading.
xoxo
Claudia
